Threads of Banaras – Woven Stories of Tradition
JITO Ahmedabad Ladies Wing, in collaboration with The Good Closet and Rastogi Banarasi Silk House, successfully hosted Threads of Banaras – Woven Stories of Tradition, an enriching afternoon celebrating the timeless art and craftsmanship of Banarasi weaving.
The event saw an enthusiastic participation of around 60 members, who came together to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of Banaras textiles.
A heartfelt thank you to Rekha Rastogi for taking us through the fascinating world of Banarasi textiles. Her insightful explanation of the weaving process, intricate threads, traditional techniques and the craftsmanship behind every weave gave everyone a deeper appreciation of the art of handwoven Banarasi sarees.
The session beautifully highlighted the heritage of Banaras and helped participants understand how every thread carries a story of tradition, skill and artistry.
A special thank you to Rekha Shah – Event Convener, for bringing this beautiful experience to the JITO Ladies Wing community.
A very special thanks to Rinku Shah for arranging a scrumptious meal.
Our sincere gratitude to Renu Chhajer, JLW Chairperson, and Parita Shah, JLW Chief Secretary, for their guidance and support in making the event a meaningful and memorable experience.
It was truly an afternoon of learning, appreciation, togetherness and celebrating the rich textile heritage of India.
