15 Jan, 2026 - Uttarayan Jivdaya Camp
JITO Ahmedabad Chapter proudly contributed to the Uttarayan Jivdaya Camp organized by Jivdaya Charitable Trust, dedicated to the treatment and care of birds and animals injured during the Uttarayan festival due to kite threads (manja). True happiness grows when every life—small or large—is respected and protected. It was deeply saddening to learn that in just two days, more than 600 birds were injured, and countless others may have lost their lives due to glass-coated kite threads.
A special visiting arrangement was made exclusively for JITO members, during which around 200 members, along with their families, participated with great enthusiasm. Members witnessed firsthand the noble service being rendered—ranging from emergency medical care and surgeries to the rehabilitation of injured birds and animals.
The visit created deep awareness about the harmful impact of manja and inspired compassion, responsibility, and respect for all living beings. Members expressed heartfelt appreciation for the tireless efforts of the doctors, medical staff, and volunteers who worked round the clock during the festival period. JITO Ahmedabad Chapter is honored to be associated with such a meaningful initiative and encourages more members to visit and support this beautiful cause, which truly reflects the spirit of Seva, Karuna, and Samajik Uttardayitva.
Chairman Shri Rajiv Chhajer, Chief Secretary Shri Jainik Vakil, Conveners Shri Tejas Shah & Shri Mahesh Chhajed, Past Chairman Shri Hemant Shah, Shri Ajit Shah, Shri Rajan Bordia, JLW Sr. Vice Chairperson Smt. Renu Chhajer and many other FCP and Patron members visited the camp and expressed their gratitude and compassion.
